“Latent Print Rap”

(This lyrical perspective involving fingerprints was submitted by Bill Leo--LASD, with permission of the author)

by OFFICER ROBERT “BUBBA” NORRIS
Los Angeles Police Department

Latent Fingerprints is what I do;
So don't commit no crime or I'll get you.

When I sling my dust I do it well;
I put a whole lot of chumps deep in jail.

You thought you got away because you weren't seen;
But you left your fingerprints all over the scene.

I found your pinky, your index, your ring & your thumb;
As I was snatching them up I said boy this chump is dumb.

People work hard for the stuff they get;
And it's thieves like you who make me mad as heck.

You used an old woman's money for the dope you bought;
But I found your prints & you'll soon be caught.

You looked real stupid when you took the stand;
Telling the judge & the jury that wasn't your hand.

Thieves, you're on notice & this is no brag;
I will get you with my silver, black or mag.

Armed with my powder & my brush in hand;
I'll see to it, you wind up in the can.

You were really dumb when you handled that glass;
Because you left'em -- I got'em & that's your ass.

Unlike your tongue, your prints don't lie;
So your jive ass story will not fly.

When you saw the police, you turned & ran away;
But someday soon you'll make their day.

(Editor--—A passing thought, maybe we should have a SCAFO version of Star Search at our next meeting.  Then again, maybe we should let that thought just pass on by.)
