77th President - MARK WALDO, 2014

In February, SCAFO met at T.J. Schmid’s in Anaheim for a luncheon meeting.  Heather Williams of Orange Co. Probation spoke on the “Trauma Effects of First Responders."

The Past-Presidents April meeting took place at the Sierra Lakes County Club in Fontana.  Past-President Clark Fogg, Beverly Hills PD did a book signing on his book; Beverly Hills Confidential.

The June meeting was at Taix French Restaurant in Los Angeles.  Camille Bourque, LAPD spoke on “Articulating Fingerprint Analysis Decisions”.

The 23th Annual Training Conference, the conference was expanded to a three day event and took place at the Wyndam Anaheim/Garden Grove.  An extensive program included: Jason Cole, Henderson PD on Using Technology to Expedite Latent Print Casework and Blood Enhancement Chemicals, Dean Glalamas Div. Chief, LASD on Crime Scene in a Box, Past-President Bill Leo on Proving Latent Prints are Unique, Dulce Dutch of Leica Geosystems on the Leica/Robotic Total Station, Eamonn Cooney of Forensic Source on Nanopowder, Past-President Marvin Spreyne on Court Testimony, Mike Stapletion, FBI Retired giving a Ten Print Certification Workshop, Joe Gaziano on Blood Stain Impact Angle, Becki Daher OCSD on Latent Print Certification, Sgt. Trevis Newport and Det. Mauricio Hurtado on “The Domer Case”, and Author Tom Gier on case studies on “Thelma and Louise” and “Jane Do, also a book signing of his book Lasting Impressions.  Also this year, a 1950's Night Dinner.

The August Meeting was held at Los Amigos Country Club in Downey.  The meeting topic was the Linda Sobel Murder by Asst. Director Heidi Robbins, LASD Crime Lab.

Mark served with the Santa Ana Police Dpartment during his Presidency.
