60th President - LOUIS HERBERT, 1997

SCAFO’s 60th, Diamond Anniversary Celebration took place on the historic Queen Mary Cruise Ship in Long Beach.  The Queen Mary first set sail in 1936, the same year that SCAFO was being formed.  This formal banquet featured the true crime author Ann Rule, whose bestsellers include, Small Sacrifices and the chilling story of the 1985 Southern California murders in, If You Really Loved Me.  Many of the members spent the night on the Queen Mary for a cost of $90.00 to $130.00.

Under Lou’s leadership and the expertise of Alan McRoberts, SCAFO launched the SCAFO website.  www.scafo.org

The August meeting took place at the Downtown Deli Café in Covina.  Gilbert Aguilar, LAPD, spoke on a murder victim identification using the friction skin on the soles of the feet.

SCAFO sponsored a one day workshop on Fingerprint Evidence Court Testimony Workshop at the Embassy Suites in Brea.  The workshop was taught by Past-President Bill Leo

Lou served with the Riverside District Attorneys Office during his Presidency.
