Fingerprint Officers

The current Executive Board has brought forth a proposed Bylaw change for the membership to vote on during the election for officers at the business meeting scheduled for October 5, 2018 at the annual training conference to be held in Palm Springs. Pursuant to the Bylaws, any proposal must be discussed at a scheduled bi-monthly meeting and posted on both the association's website and in The Print publication. The proposal was discussed at the August 4th 2018 bi-monthly training meeting in Carlsbad, CA.

As the Bylaw currently reads:
Article 2 – Honorary Membership
The Bylaw section currently reads:

HONORARY MEMBERSHIPS
Honorary Memberships may be conferred on Judges, Sheriffs, Chiefs of Police, Heads of Law Enforcement Agencies, Wardens of State Prisons, District Attorneys, Present and Past Presidents of the California State Division International Association for Identification, and other qualified individuals selected by a majority of the Executive Committee.  Upon admission to membership they shall enjoy all rights and privileges of Active Members.  No fees shall be charged to Honorary Members, and their membership shall remain in effect so long as they hold any of the qualified positions.  Any Honorary Member having the qualifications, and wishing to do so, may become an Active Member.

The proposed change would add the following:
Upon admission to membership they shall enjoy all rights and privileges of Active Members except that they shall not be entitled to vote or be elected to the Executive Board.
